MAMH Testimony in Support of S.1239, An Act to Transfer Bridgewater State Hospital from the Department of Correction to the Department of Mental Health

Written testimony to Chair John Velis, Chair Adrian Madaro, and members of the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery in support of S.1239, An Act to transfer Bridgewater State Hospital from the Department of Corrections to the Department of Mental Health. This legislation would ensure that individuals who are confined pursuant to a criminal matter and who need hospital-level mental health care are the responsibility of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH).
